Great oral health is key to maintaining great overall health. At Go Natural Dentistry in Fort Lauderdale, Dr. Cintron and her team live by this principle and focus not just on their patients’ oral hygiene but on how their oral hygiene affects the health of their whole body.
Today, we will examine how the 12th First Premolar Tooth also known as the left permanent maxillary first premolar interacts with the health of the human body with the use of the Meridian Tooth Chart. This tooth chart is a representation based on acupuncture meridians (channels or pathways of energy) flowing through the body, connecting teeth to other organs.
According to the chart the 12th First Premolar is connected to the Large Intestine Meridian and the energy flows through the left large intestine, liver, left lung, pancreas and stomach. It also connects to the thyroid, pituitary and posterior lobe glands and the sensory areas of the eye, maxillary sinus and ethmoid cells. The meridian also flows through the musculature of the upper and lower extremities and the trunk and the joints of the foot, big toes, radial hand, elbow and shoulder.
Furthermore, the Large Intestine Meridian also has relationships with issues such as dyspepsia of the liver-stomach pancreas, eye diseases, traverse colon, diseases of the ocular fundus, dysbiosis, dyshidrosis, ablatio retinae, agrypnia, issues with cellular respiration and maxillary sinus, schizophrenic aspects and vegetative dystonia.
This means that an infection in the 12th first premolar can make you susceptible to the above diseases and might possibly lead to problems within organs such as the large intestine, liver, left lung, pancreas and stomach and vice versa.
