When patients visit Go Natural Dentistry, they’re often in search of transforming their lives – not just their smiles. Dr. Yolanda Cintron and the team get great satisfaction from hearing from patients like Rae. In this Fort Lauderdale patient’s story, Rae is not exaggerating when she says, “My dentist saved my life.”
Rae initially benefited from Dr. Cintron’s traditional and non-traditional approaches to care as a holistic dental practice. Plasma Rich Growth Factors (PRGF) were used to promote healing in a natural manner, using Rae’s own blood, and for both extraction of an upper left molar and during the placement of her non-metal, biocompatible zirconia dental implant. The extracted molar (the No. 14 tooth) set off alarm bells in her husband’s mind; as a Fort Lauderdale-based integrative medicine doctor, he was familiar with the tooth meridian chart and knew the relationship between that particular tooth and breast cancer.
It wasn’t long before she was visiting a cancer specialist for further follow-up. And, sure enough, that oncologist discovered a small lump in her breast that otherwise would have gone undetected. Since Rae’s tumor was detected so early, she was able to successfully treat it and is now healthy. In Rae’s words: “My dentist found my breast cancer two years before it was detectable … The lump was found early, which I believe, saved my life.”
Dr. Veronique Desaulniers, a leading breast cancer authority, found that 93% of the 300 women she studied with the cancer over five years had root canal therapy. Furthermore, Dr. V discovered that the women’s cancers tended to develop on the same side of the body as the root canal-treated tooth (or other sites of oral disease). Dr. V also cites an American Academy of Periodontology study, which concluded that the root canal sites, and blood samples provided by all of its subjects contained harmful anaerobic bacteria. These and other studies support that root canal-treated teeth can be a source of toxins implicated in all sorts of medical conditions.
Consider this: No other medical procedure retains a dead body part! When an appendix ruptures, it’s removed. When a limb becomes gangrenous, it’s amputated. Yet, when the “heart” of the tooth dies, the restored tooth is built up around it. As you might imagine, your body’s immune system “doesn’t care” for the dead substances that are left behind. The result? Your body launches an attack to fight the presence of the dead tissue. The source of the infection, your root-canal treated tissues, coupled with your body’s autoimmune reaction, promotes the proliferation of bacteria around the dead tooth. Every time you bite down, bacteria are given an opportunity to flow into your blood – what Dr. V characterized as a “never-ending river of bacteria.”
